This new construction project began as a historic renovation and deep energy retrofit of an 1820 farmhouse with special attention paid to maintaining the historic integrity of the building. However, terminal structural issues were discovered and the project had to pivot to new construction. As much of the original material was saved for reuse including brick, beams, interior doors & trim and exterior friezes, pilasters and trim. The new design nods to the historic shape and function while providing an energy efficient and zero-energy ready home built to last generations.
